These examples of seed stock cows, similar in type and correctness have differing blood lines providing Shannonbrook with a genetic stepping stone of outcrossed desirable possibilities.

All cows are classified and have been selected for their desirable traits. Parentage records indicate birth weight, muscle, fat cover, growth rate, milk production and fertility. Strong selection bias was aimed at temperament and mothering ability.

Shannonbrook is concentrating its efforts breeding polled animals. Our gene base is provided by polled dams with polled parentage.

A limited number of Shannonbrook home grown heifers are now in calf. Casting aside heifer calves that don’t reach a Shannonbrook standard is easy. Relatively small numbers will go on to receive semen by overseas bulls or Australian champions!
